Industry Quotes

Here is a list of famous quotes I have compiled from various members of the Film and Television Industry

"We in the industry know that behind every successful screenwriter stands a woman. And behind her stands his wife."

-Groucho Marx, Actor

"A wide screen just makes a bad film twice as bad."

-Samuel Goldwyn, Founder of MGM

"A day without laughter is a day wasted."

-Charlie Chaplin, Actor & Director

"The first monster you have to scare the audience with is yourself."

-Wes Craven, Director

"In England, I'm a horror movie director. In Germany, I'm a filmmaker. In the US, I'm a bum."

-John Carpenter, Director

"No matter where you're going it's the wrong place."

-Tobe Hooper, Director

"Bad taste is simply saying the truth before it should be said."

-Mel Brooks, Director & Actor

And so it began...

The year was 2002, I just turned 14 and for my birthday my dad bought me my first camcorder. (Key word, my) I remember my dad picking me up from school early and going to Circuit City and buying my first Sony 8mm Camcorder. It's funny how when I reflect on my experience, how I have progressed with new types of technology, from 2002 my first 8mm camcorder, 3 years later my 1st mini-DV camcorder (Samsung), and now I own a JVC Everio with a 30 G HD, and Canon AX A1 (successor to the XL2) Even back in 2002 I was making my own movies, just stupid stuff I would do with my buddies, like skateboarding or running around outside. But it was not until 2005 I started to edit my videos, I bought my first firewire card, which came with a trial version of Ulead VideoStudio. I learned everything on my own, then eventually I learned Windows Movie Maker, which is alright. Now.....6 years later I am editing with Avid and Final Cut, filming TV shows, and interning at a TV station. With all of this experience I have, I look forward to the future in TV production, especially my dream of becoming an ENG Operator for a news station
